We arrived at the truck by 7 just in case anything was to happen quickly. It didn’t, which is normal. But the night crew had taken our wire skids down and even rolled them up for us, so we stored those. They had also prepped the unit for unloading, so all we had to do was wait. So we went and had our temperatures read, and got our wrist bands so we’d be ready to enter the site.

While we were waiting, the office called and told us they just ordered us new permits because plans had changed. Instead of doing a site survey in Des Moines on our way back to Madison to reload and go to Albuquerque, we needed to go directly to Green Bay and load Friday. We will be bringing that one right back here to Omaha to unload next Tuesday. We are now at Facebook, and that one will go across the street to Google.

Shortly after that, we were notified that the crane crew was ready for us, so we carefully drove in and under the crane. Everything went smoothly, and we were empty in no time. We pulled ahead and shrunk up the trailer to 12′ wide, and left the site just after noon. We had all highway out of Omaha. On the way by, my driver pointed out the Omaha Zoo and Aquarium, and said that when we come back, he really wants to go visit it if we have to wait to get unloaded. We made our way back to Walcott Iowa and parked at the Iowa 80 Truck Stop for the night. Once again, I brought my driver to a hotel where we both spent the night because it was well into the 90’s here.

We left early, because we knew we had a long day ahead of us. We would be driving right by the load site near Madison on our way to Green Bay, so planned to drop off some steel they use in loading the generators there. We pulled in there late morning,

and a fork lift came out and unloaded the angle iron steel that is used to strengthen the fuel tank during transport.

From there we drove on to Green Bay by about 4 PM, and parked in front of the load site for the night.

My driver unhooked so he could get fuel and park at the hotel for the night. I also checked in because of the heat.  I certainly will be glad when the temperatures go down and I can stay in my van again!

Later on a second truck arrived and parked. That driver and both of the escorts also checked in to the hotel where we were.

Hopefully, tomorrow we will both load right away, and leave early, so we can be well on our way to Omaha by the end of the day!
